16/02/06 Will: The album is entering it's final phase - just the mixing to do now!... It's sounding sweet and I have a reasonable amount of confidence in saying you won't be disappointed!!! Take Care, Will.X.
22/11/05 Tom: (update + lyrics) Hi Everyone, Sorry it's been so long since I've written on here! I agree about the lyrics. They should definitely be in the sleeve notes on the new album. When we come to start the cover we'll make sure of it! We've just started our third week in the studio and it's sounding great!! See y'all soon, Tom
7/11/05 Adam: Hello all, hope everyone is well. You may be interested to know that we have now officially begun recording album 2!!! Today is only our first day in the studio, so we won't have it finished until at least tomorrow. No set dates for completion and/or release yet, but watch this, or any other mildly entertaining space!!!
1/11/05 Official Website Update: Thirteen Senses are now in the studio recording album 2 with producer Danton Supple. Danton produced the first album and is due for release in 2006.
23/10/05 Adam: No idea about release dates yet.........it's hard to tell until you start recording really. We want to be sure we get it right.........but at the same time, we don't feel the need to really dwell on these things.
I reckon though......................if I really think about it.................we will probably release our album at some point during 2006 :-)
21/10/05 Adam: (were you this excited when you were making the first album?) We were a different kind of excited when making the first album, we'd just done something we had all dreamed of.....getting a record deal, and everything was moving really fast. Despite having loads of songs written already, we had a month to write some more. In that month we cam up with Automatic, Into The Fire, Saving, Angels and Spies, History, Last Forever, Undivided and Picture This.....it was a good month. Although we were absolutely fine with the songs that we had i still think with more time we could have done better.
The first album ended up being a mix of old and new, we had very little experience in anything, particularly the industry, and we kept everything quite pure and simple..........trying to maximise the beauty of Wills songwriting.
This album however is a completely different kettle of fish. We've travelled and gigged, we've had vast experiences in many of the things that life has to offer, and more importantly we've developed as a group of people and a band. The music we've written is all new. There are no old songs here, it's all completely new, and it's very exciting.
We loved playing songs like Into The Fire and Thru The Glass live, and after a while, even we got a bit bored of the fairly slow pace of 'The Invitation'. There are a lot of up-tempo tracks on this album, and now I'm blabbing on so I'm going to stop!!!!
Basically, in short, I think I am more excited about this album than the first!!
Jee Wizz I waffle on!!!!
17/10/05 Adam: Wowee!!.......We've got some great songs for this album, it's going to be a goodun....................................... Sorry, couldn't help myself :-)
30/9/05 Bren: Hello Everybody! I'm getting excited about the prospect of putting out a new album. We're working through lots of new songs everyday, and it's great being able to go back to the first creative stages again. It wasn't that long ago that we were doing this for the first time; it feels like a lot longer.
23/9/05 Adam: Hi folks, well..........just a bit of text to keep you all posted! The always dubious second album is coming along a treat......in fact I'm listening to some of the songs in the headphones as I'm typing this......and i have to say...............i'm loving it!!!!..........which is obviously a good thing, otherwise I'd have no job satisfaction, and that is not productive when you consider the reliability of the modern olive balancer.
Basically we've been amassing a large amount of songs.....somewhere in the region of 20 or so, which have all been worked on, and recorded ourselves by our very own, magical Thomas- William, George, Anthony, Pauline, Reginald, Margaret -Welham. This way, we have a large amount of what we consider to be quality songs, from which to pick a final album. In addition to this, we can then have b-sides or bonus tracks ready to go as well.
By about the 14th October, we're going to be going into pre-production for a couple of weeks. This basically involves working on all the songs in finite detail with your chosen producer (sorry.....going to have to keep the name of this person quiet for a while!!), in a live situation. You basically thrash out the tunes, to see if they work as well as you think, and then from there you can play around with the structures and arrangements, as well as perfect certain parts (guitar lines etc). After this period, if we're happy that people won't see the songs as Coldplay or Keane 'rip-offs' then we will be going into the studio to begin recording ..........And all i can say about this is my lovelies, is that we don't want to hang around or drag our feet with this aspect of it:-)
See you in the charts very soon hopefully :-)
1/9/05 Adam: (on Thirteen Senses becoming 'huge' or not) Who Cares, as long as there are people out there who enjoy it..... but just wait for album 2.....Weather we are 'huge' or not remains to be seen, but I can assure you it's going to be bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are not pleased I will eat my hat and the biggest, most indigestible hat on the planet.....complete with gherkins :-)
23/8/05 Adam: (on new track which was played at Chelmsford V Fest.) The New song was called 'Animal', and I'd say that it's similar to simultaneously having an orgasm and finding out that you're entitled to Bill Gates' inheritance:-) Alternatively, it's a rocking, 'hooky' guitar song that motors along!......Makes 'Thru The Glass' appear a little dull !!
16/7/05 Brendon: At the moment we're just at home writing and recording demos of new songs, and we think they're sounding pretty good so far! We're really looking forward to going back into the studio later on in the year.
2/7/05 Brendon: Work on our new songs continues, some of them are starting to come together quite nicely....
