Day 21 - Brighton, Concorde 2: I awake at about midday, in scorching heat. It was a blinding hot day outside, and my bunk is on the side of the bus that was exposed to the sun. Surprisingly, I felt absolutely fine, no hangover or ill effects.......................ah, the joys of youth!!! It did feel strange having another gig to do, as London is usually the last gig of most tours, but it made no difference to us, and it was quite a nice change to finish somewhere else, and the beautiful weather set the scene perfectly. After feeding myself, and spending a good amount of time lay on the beach in the sunshine, I amble back towards the venue to see how things are going. The pace of today is nice and slow, as a few other people in our group are feeling a little worse for wear! We had previously given a copy of our new album to Luke Toms, and he arrived a the venue with an interesting discovery.................If you open up our album booklet, and hold the front cover against a window, or up to the sun, you can see my face from the picture on the reverse, shining through directly where the 'orb' of light is on the front cover.........damn, someone finally uncovered the fact that I am a messiah. Oh well, better get my robe and sandals out again :-) One drink that I always find amazing when I have had a heavy night out is Lilt. I couldn't find any, so settled for a diet coke, never mind...................................... Wow, it's time for the gig. The LAST gig of the tour. It felt like only yesterday that we were overjoyed at the fact that we had three weeks on tour...........what happened? where did it go? it's such a blur......... only when I look back over the tour diaries does it all start sinking in. Well, all we can say is that Brighton was a great place to finish the tour. The audience was great, very attentive, and made plenty of noise. We really enjoyed the gig, but had a constant sense of regret that this was the last performance, but overall a very good end to, what was for us, an amazing tour. I think in the time we have been away we have developed a great deal. Even though we haven't been touring constantly, we dived straight back into it, playing better than we ever have. The new songs give us more freedom when picking a set list, and are so much more fun to play, and I think having dealt with touring before, nothing was new, and nothing was a surprise, so we were much better equipped to deal with the lifestyle of being on the road, making the most of it, and enjoying every second......apart from the smell in the toilet at Oxford :-) Over and out, thanks to all who came Yours Adam........Messiah, and bassist, of THIRTEEN SENSES!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.lewisslade.com/thirteensenses
