Day 5 - Glasgow King Tuts: Yet again, Glasgow is another city that we love playing. We have never had a bad gig there, and the people are excellent. The only problem here, is it was like doing two gigs in one day. We had been booked in to do a live radio recording with Scotland's number one DJ Billy Sloane. This was a completely live, whole band set-up at 9:00am aaaaggghhhh!!! We begin the task of setting up gig number 1.......this isn't helped much by the rain (we are yet to visit Glasgow without rain) but this is helped by a big delivery of Egg McMuffins, hash browns, and other heart attack inducing goodies. The session goes really smoothly, with everyone pulling together to get in and out as quickly and painlessly as possible to avoid us being late for the King Tuts gig. On arrival at the venue, it's a quick shower and shave before starting gig number 2. Once set up, the venue always lay on some good home cooked food for the artists which always goes down well.......so, laden down with the weight of a hefty jacket potato, I begin to worry if I have eaten to much to be able to play a gig! Gig time! As always, King tuts contains a crowd that has a really good buzz about it. Unfortunately, quite early on in the set we had many technical problems. These are the sort of things that we can usually manage to keep the gig going, and conceal, but leave us feeling a little on edge. It took us a while to get into our stride after some of these minor setbacks, but I had ongoing problems throughout which made it very hard for me to relax. All in all though, I think we pulled it off, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy the set, so I felt a lot better come the end! As per usual, the rain persisted throughout the day, leaving us with a very wet load out, which is never fun, but at least we get a wash at the same time! Birmingham here we come!!! www.lewisslade.com/thirteensenses
