Wednesday 9th March, Falmouth - The Stannery, Cornwall Oh No!!!! End of tour already! What a fantastic time we have had, and what a great way to end our first major headline tour!! We have always wanted to play in Cornwall where possible, and after multiple unsuccessful attempts it was actually nice to arrive back in this 'cow laden' landscape and start preparing for the gig. I have to say that it is a very impressive building, we had never been here before, so it was a shock to see such an impressive project which had utilised the budget wisely.........just like the Millenium Dome.......NOT. Anyhoo, we went through the usual rigmarole of setting up the gear, and occasionally wandered outside and took some hefty breaths of clean air......... the only thing that didn't smell nice in Cornwall was us,.....Tour buses are amazing, but you can't quite fit a washing machine in there! Roughly mid afternoon, after getting showered and munching on the obligatory pasty, it was nice to see some old-skool mates from Whiteroom. They were in high spirits, and it was very cool to catch up and hear about how they all are. Then Alterkicks turned up........thank god! The poor guys had to make the journey in a car, and believe me, I wouldn't wish that on anyone! With more than two people in a car journey of that scale, if you are male, certain parts of your anatomy can get very warm, very quickly.......I think I've painted enough of this picture! Work time. Soundchecks all around. After that....family time. Obviously being back home, there are plenty of people to catch up with, and before I know it, I've drank more beer than normal, and it's gig time.......i wasn't drunk, just surprised that the time had flown by. After brilliant performances from Whiteroom and Alterkicks we took the stage wondering how this gig would be. Part of us was very concerned that the large crowd may not consist mainly of fans, but just fellow west Country folk who had come along for something to do......However, I don't think that was the case. The crowd response was great, but very off putting as everywhere I looked I could see a familiar face............almost comparable to trying to make love with your pet dog watching!!!! Overall though, it was a fantastic experience, and I hope that maybe by seeing us, we've entertained, or inspired others. A great end to a great tour. Big thanks to all who came, particularly those who travelled great distances through dark forests, winding paths, and all on the back of a electric armadillo.....it's much appreciated!! To end this chapter, we'd all like to say massive thanks to all the venues and staff, to all of the fans who made this tour a very special one for us, and lastly to everyone that worked with us to make this happen....i'l stop typing now......ouch cramp!!! PS Thanks also to Alterkicks who put in great performances throughout the whole tour, the fantastic Pollen who did all but the last two dates, and Ghosts and Whiteroom for great one off shows.
