Tuesday 8th March, Oxford - Zodiac Oxford. Different town, different crowd, different support band, but another great sell out gig.......including some amorous crowd behaviour which I'll get to later! After waking up fuzzy headed as a result of celebrating an amazing first time at Shepherds bush Empire, its not until everyone has showered that the cobwebs start to disappear. Also after pigging out on the buffet style food in the dressing room some of us were even smiling. New support band Ghosts (Will's hot tip) began their set to a half full venue, but thankfully it took next to no time to fill up, and the ends of their songs were met with deserved applause. Alterkicks gave another fine performance leaving the crowd well and truly warmed up. Cue us......It's always fun playing intimate venues. Shepherds Bush was amazing, but in venues like the Zodiac you do feel much more connected to the audience. I personally had a great gig! (Let me explain why) We got about four songs in, and all was well. The vibe in the room was good, but appaered to be slightly overwhelming for one couple just in front of me. Having powerful lights on stage means we can quite often see the crowd very clearly. The male half of the couple in question couldn't resist reaching around his partner and having a squeeze of her lady-bumps! I had a great view! It wasn't the act in question that excited me or got my attention, more the females reaction, as she was half loving it, but also extremely embarrassed that I could see the whole thing. This continued pretty much all night, and I imagine that his hands are still there now. The crowd response was amazing all night long, and Thru The Glass once agian signalled a great end to a great show, however if anyone in the front row thought that I was serenading them, i wasn't....my guitar strap broke! Oh oh oh!! One more thing - another landmark for us ......... someone threw their bikini top on stage, the first time that has ever happened! Tom says thanks - he's wearing it now, but he desperately wants the matching pants!! Adam www.lewisslade.com/thirteensenses
